Inventory Market Eye – Portfolio Administration App Evaluation

by crpt os

It’s every investor’s goal to optimize their portfolio, and investment tracking apps can help you achieve just that. They consolidate your data and provide useful features that could give you pivotal feedback. Ultimately, a good tool can influence the financial decisions you make for the better.

There are hundreds of portfolio trackers with varying degrees of complexity. Today I’ll be reviewing the Stock Market Eye stock tracking software, which is one that seems to stand out for investors of any scale or experience level. I’ll be taking a deeper look at this award-winning app’s features and all that it has to offer.

What is StockMarketEye?

StockMarketEye is an accessible, simplified portfolio tracker that aims to eliminate the burden of manual spreadsheets. It’s an easy-to-use computer program that helps you oversee all your investments and gain insights into the stock market. It also has a trimmed-down mobile app that gives you limited functionality at a glance.

With StockMarketEye, you can track virtually any investment and manage multiple portfolios under one umbrella. With one easy login, you can run reports on the stocks you own, get insights into your 401k and IRA, and even see how a watchlist is performing compared to a benchmark.

Sure, it takes a little bit of effort to get everything set up. But after that, you’re smooth sailing with charting and organizational tools to view your investments from an entirely new perspective.

Features

Import From Brokerages

StockMarketEye’s brokerage import feature is easy to use and intuitive, which makes getting your investment data into the software a breeze.

For those in the US, I found the “direct connect” method to be the easiest to use. It links to your brokerage to gain access to your current holdings and transaction data. For those outside of the US, the Advance Brokerage Import feature lets you bring in your investment data from thousands of brokerages around the world. All it takes is signing in with your credentials which seemed secure in the app.

The setup for me was simple. I connected a few accounts, and StockMarketEye displayed all the information from each of my portfolios. Then I was able to use the update-from-brokerage feature in one of the dropdowns to download new transactions as I made them.

Portfolio Management

You can organize and track as many portfolios as you want in StockMarketEye without having to worry about getting overwhelmed. Portfolio groups and categories let you manage your information how you want, and it’s as simple as dragging and dropping them into place.

I don’t have too much to track, but I was able to group individual portfolios together to access all the data in one spot. Running reports was easy, and I even noticed I could stack groups within groups.

The investment categories allow you to put individual holdings from any portfolio or group in their own category and view the total. That gives you a different perspective on your asset allocation that you might not get when logging into several accounts separately or tracking on a spreadsheet.

Reports

StockMarketEye has numerous reporting tools that give you an analysis of your portfolio, and they seem to be very customizable, from what I could tell. I could look at the history of my transactions, a summary of my activity during a certain time period, or even jump back to view a specific day in the past.

The allocation report was also pretty insightful. It let me see how diversified (or not so much) my portfolio is and gave me an idea of where I could improve.

There is even a benchmark comparison tool that measures your investment’s growth against the market or a specific index.

Watch Lists

With the watch list tool on StockMarketEye, you can track an endless amount of securities and organize them into groups and categories for easy access. You can follow the value and get technical data on stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, options, and global currencies. So, if you hear some buzz about a company, throw it on a watchlist to keep an eye on it.

You can view your watch lists in two modes, “Prices” and “Fundamentals.” Prices will show you information like the current price and changes over a period of time. I particularly liked the Fundamentals view, though, which gave me extra data like market capitalization, PE ratio, and dividend specifics.

Stock Charts

StockMarketEye has several ways of breaking down an investment’s growth by using charting tools. As a tracking and analysis-geared software, they can take just about any slice of data you want to look at and put it into a simplified chart or graph.

As a visual person, I appreciated being able to flip through different views. I could see everything as line charts, mountain charts, candlestick charts, and OHLC charts. Plus, I could select specific date ranges to adjust everything a little more.

Charting doesn’t stop there, though. You can compare securities, monitor your gains and losses, map the growth of your portfolio, and do so much more in terms of personalizing everything.

Get Alerts

The alert functionality aims to eliminate the need to check on your investments constantly. The software can flag any changes in your watchlists and portfolios so you won’t miss a beat.

In StockMarketEye, you can customize the alerts to only follow certain symbols and set them to specificities like last price, today’s % change, volume, and PE. However, they don’t make a noise, so I found myself passing them by them more than anything. I think there’s room for improvement on this feature, but if you keep an eye on the alert icons, you’ll still get what you need.

How Can StockMarketEye Benefit You?

Simplified Portfolio Management

One of the things this app does best is to organize all of your investments into one streamlined platform, which is especially helpful if you are trying to juggle your family’s assets. You can access multiple accounts with different brokerages and manage numerous portfolios. Plus, it’s easy enough for a beginner to start using it right away. StockMarketEye makes portfolio tracking painless and uncomplicated for all levels of investors.

View Crucial Data in a New Light

With various types of tools at your fingertips, you can start looking at your portfolio from a different view. Whether you want to get an analysis of your asset allocation or compare specific holdings to an index’s growth, you can run a report for just about anything. Multiple chart and graph options give you even greater context with their helpful visualizations. Zoom in on the fine details or get a broader picture of your investments.

Organized Watchlists

StockMarketEye takes much of the frustration out of trying to keep track of multiple securities simultaneously. With the customizable watchlists, you can monitor an unlimited amount of mutual funds, ETFs, stocks, and currencies without having to think twice. Not to mention, you have the ability to organize them into groups and categories that make sense to you. Once you set up your alerts, you won’t have to worry about ever missing out on any activity (as long as you look for them).

Pricing

The subscription to StockMarketEye costs only $74.99 a year. That includes free software updates, the use of all its services and features, and real human customer support. If you want to feel it out first, you can try the free 30-day trial. Based on the amount of time this could save me by simply not logging into six different places, I think the value is solid.

Accessibility

This app can be used with Linux, Mac, and Windows on a desktop computer or on the go with your iPhone, iPad, or Android. It’s accessible all over the world and tracks major global indexes, including the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 Index, and the Russell 2000 Index.

Start Optimizing Your Portfolio the Easy Way

If you aren’t already using a portfolio management app, it might be time to consider signing up for one like StockMarketEye.

I really enjoyed my time with the software and can see myself using it periodically to check up on things. Who knows? Maybe it will help me gain valuable insight I would have otherwise missed. See how StockMarketEye can help you optimize your investments.
