US presidential candidate Donald Trump surprised his loyal audience in a special NFT event at his Mar-a-Lago residence by commenting on a Joe Biden-themed memecoin when one of his supporters said, “I just wanted to let you know that there’s a token making fun of Joe Biden, and it’s worth $240 million right now.”
Trump took the question in good spirits and delivered an entertaining answer.
Trump Deems Biden-Themed Coin “Overvalued”
Having discovered BODEN’s quickly growing market cap, Donald replied, “That’s a lot of money for a coin,” adding, “I don’t like that investment.” BODEN embarked on an 18% rise soon after Trump’s interview leaked on X, and according to real-time data by independent price aggregator CoinGecko, BODEN is now priced at $0.3567, encircling a global market cap of $243,412,734.
Ironically, while Trump critiques the high price of BODEN, the MAGA (TRUMP) coin based on him is even more expensive. TRUMP has a larger global market capitalization of $290,898,618, placing it above BODEN in the global crypto charts, taking #234 and #257 spots, respectively. TRUMP has witnessed an extensive bull run, inking a 52,442.7% profit since the coin’s deployment seven months ago.
Which Presidential Coin Is Winning the Popularity Ballot?
Meme currencies often offer a sarcastic and humorous approach toward real-life events; 2024 has been especially successful for them, witnessing rapid growth in crypto prices and communities. TRUMP has showcased a marvelous bull run from the starting point of $0.01136 in late 2023 to a whopping $11.63 on March 4, 2024.
Meanwhile, the satirical TREMP cryptocurrency has emerged on Solana (SOL). TREMP is making waves in the crypto sphere with a 142.9% increase over the latest 24-hour period. This meme coin sports a relatively smaller market cap than its aforementioned predecessors. However, TREMP is doubtlessly winning against Ruburt F. Kenidy Jr. (KENIDY), as the RFK Jr.-themed coin also gained 47% over the past 24 hours but is yet to be ranked on crypto’s global charts.
With a $63,090,091 market cap on Solana, TREMP is soaring in popularity and going head-to-head with BODEN, which also soared in double digits on May 9.
The bullish price movement for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump embossed coins came after Trump’s latest special NFT event held at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort on Wednesday.
On the Flipside
- Donald Trump’s crypto wallet showcases a flurry of memecoins, including a few dissimilar variations of the self-titled TRUMP coin, but the biggest portion consists of MAGA (TRUMP).
- The presidential candidate’s Ethereum wallet has 579.29K TRUMP coins stored on-chain with a current value of $3.32 million. The largest PoS token, Ether (ETH), comes second with $1.28M in valuation.
